Mari + Hennie {11 April 2015}

I love weddings; that's no secret - all that prettiness and love is hard to resist.  But my favourite part of the day has to be the vows and speeches: its then that you see beyond the "pretty" and get a glimpse of the couple's hearts.  This wedding is then by far, the most beautiful that I have ever experienced.  Mari is truly gorgeous, inside and out.  The love that this couple have for each other, for their friends, for life... it was such an honour to share their day with them. 

A special mention: the jewelry (pendants, cufflinks and bride's hair pins) were all made by the bride herself!  And if she wasn't busy enough with that, she and the groom hand-made wooden boards for each guest as a thank-you gift.  Just more evidence of the love they have for their friends!

I think the greatest privilege a photographer has is being able to witness the most special moments of people's lives.  Weddings are my favourites - and this one in particular.  From the moment I walked into the venue and saw the Girly Loveliness, I knew this was going to be a goodie... and all that beauty faded in comparison to the ceremony and especially, the vows.  I cried.  I don't even know the couple, yet as Cayley, declared her love to Ewald, the words she used are the same as I would love to be able to say to my husband one day.  This is one of those marriages that you just know God is going to use to build and bless His Kingdom; I pray all of His very best-est blessings upon them both as they start their Next Great Adventure together... thank you for allowing me to share a very small part of your special day.
